Myles launched Kirby Architecture in 1999 during his final years in architectural training, carrying out projects for family, friends & charities in the evenings & weekends.

Between 2000-2020, Myles' day job was as a Director at the London-based architectural practice - Squire & Partners. There, he was responsible for the design & delivery of projects such as the 6-star Bvlgari Hotel, the redevelopment of the Shell Centre in Waterloo, affordable housing projects, new build offices, and residential skyscrapers.

With a passion for seeing people enjoying, working, and living in the spaces we create, the Team utilise over 25 years of experience in every project, whether it be a barn conversion, a masterplan, or a new family home. a sports club, a listed building, a new office building, or a farm shed.

Myles Taylor -  Director

Myles is a Chartered Architect and has been in practice for 25 years working on an extensive range of project types, sizes & budgets.

Following his familiy's relocation to Suffolk, Kirby Architecture was launched in 2020. Myles has always had and continues to have a passion for seeing clients living, working, and enjoying the spaces that KA create. 

When not in the office, you will see him on the hockey pitch, bolting something back onto his “Landy”, or marvelling at his 1951 Grey Fergie.

Alix Taylor - Director
Before moving to Suffolk Alix's worked in small to medium companies in London leading and supporting financial and team growth. 

When not at KA, Alix is a vicar in the diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich and is a die-hard fan of pilates and Sam's banana and chocolate loaf.

 Sam ​Prabhakaran - Architect

Sam is a New Zealand registered Architect who recently joined Kirby Architecture following his & his family's move to the UK. Sam has 15+ years’ experience in Commercial and Residential Architecture of various scale and brings extensive knowledge and expertise to KA.
 
Sam loves to work on technically challenging projects & liaising with various stake holders & Clients on all stages of the project. He is also a huge advocate for BIM.
 
Outside the office Sam spends time with his family and loves going for long runs. Sam is also a keen photographer constantly looking to improve his skills. He also bakes the best banana & chocolate loaf ever.

Andrew Johnson - Architectural Assistant

Andy is a Part II Architectural Assistant currently working towards his Part III at the University of Greenwich.  He has already worked across a range of projects, from large-scale masterplans and high-end fit-outs to the "nitty-gritty" of Stage 4 construction detailing, continually honing his skills to become a well-rounded and detail-focused designer.

Andy is driven by sustainability and has carried out significant research with a particular interest in Mycelium and its use within construction.

Outside of work, Andy is a keen sportsman, playing hockey and golf regularly in his free time. If you hear a ‘fore’, its probably him.

Charlotte Gates - Architectural Assistant

Charlotte is a Part 1 Architectural Assistant and joined KA in
the summer of 2023 after graduating from Loughborough University with First Class honours.

Charlotte is passionate about the respectful conversion of heritage buildings to create efficient and comfortable living and working environments. Charlotte applies this through Class Q conversions of traditional timber frame barns at Kirby Architecture.

Outside of work, Charlotte enjoys long road trips and loves exploring new places in her fleet of 1990s Toyotas.
